This was the second selfie of both leaders that Italy’s PM shared on her official X account after the COP 28 Summit in 2023, with the hashtag Melodi.
Since then, Melodi has become a very popular term among netizens and one can see plenty of memes with Meloni hashtags.

PM Modi thanked Italy’s PM, Meloni
PM Modi visited Italy to attend the G7 Summit where he thanked the Italian Prime Minister for the invitation. During the meeting PM Modi and Meloni discussed the progress of the bilateral strategic partnership and agreed to further cooperation in global fora and multilateral initiatives including the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor.
PM Modi greets with Namaste
PM Modi was warmly welcomed by the 50th G7 Summit where they all exchanged greetings with traditional Namaste gestures. Recently, Italy’s PM Meloni was also seen greeting their G7 counterparts with a Namaste gesture.
Modi also highlights India’s commitment to amplifying the voices of the Global South, particularly Africa. He also referenced India’s effort to elevate the African Union to a permanent member of the G20 and emphasized the country’s dedication to strengthening ties with the African continent.
PM Modi’s bilateral talk with PM Meloni
Prime Minister Modi also held a bilateral discussion with several world leaders on the sidelines of the summit. He had talked with French President Macron, British PM Sunak, Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy, and Japan’s PM Fumio Kishida to foster and strengthen international relations.
